University is finally over! The final event being a Degree Show to showcase all our work for people to peruse and enjoy. Set up in the showroom space, we we're all given space on a table with a PC to put our work on. I decided to go the extra mile, and make a display stand of my portfolio website; Luckettopia!
Painting a cut-out big-ass box corner sky blue, and printing out cut-outs of the hi-res art I had done for it to paste onto the base. This was initially going to be as far as I went, but It developed a bit more after buying an astro-turf mat to lay down for fake grass, and then making a Star-Post Lamp to put into the display. The clickable area's on my Flash Portfolio site were all signified by Star-Posts, so it was neat to make one! Found the perfect lamp base and bought that, then sprayed a spherical pearl white bulb with metallic blue paint with a star stencil on to keep it white. On the space is several of my Games Design Development Documents for Alien Breed DS, Mary Poppin's INC. and my major project Waffle X. I also got 250 (!) flyers printed out to give out, so theyre there for the taking!
On the monitor is a desktop I made for the event, with only the icons of my work available for the general public to double-click on and enjoy! (lots of people seemed scared of actually clicking on stuff!)
The Hull New Media Degree Show 2006 is open to the general public from the 13th May - 17th May (10:30am - 4pm), in the Derek Crothall Building on George Street, in Hull, England. Drop in and have a look through my work, enjoy the pilot episode of Waffle X, take a flier and maybe even look at my other classmates work if you really must
